May 8: A combination of a cystic fibrosis drug and an experimental treatment for the disease, both developed by Vertex Pharmaceuticals, led to significantly improved breathing ability in a midstage study, the company said on Monday. Link to the Article
May 7: Today Vertex Pharmaceuticals announced promising interim results from a Phase 2 clinical trial of Kalydeco and VX-809 in combination. The results showed a significant improvement in lung function in people who have two copies of the most common CF mutation, Delta F508. Link to the Article

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) is a non-profit organization in the United States established to provide the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis (CF). The Foundation provides information about cystic fibrosis and finances CF research that aims to improve the quality of life for people with the disease. The Foundation also engages in legislative lobbying for cystic fibrosis.
