May 8: A combination of a cystic fibrosis drug and an experimental treatment for the disease, both developed by Vertex Pharmaceuticals, led to significantly improved breathing ability in a midstage study, the company said on Monday. Link to the Article May 7: Today Vertex Pharmaceuticals announced promising interim results from a Phase 2 clinical trial of Kalydeco and VX-809 in combination. The results showed a significant improvement in lung function in people who have two copies of the most common CF mutation, Delta F508.
